Kekén’s plant Uman certificated with the FSSC22000

This certification is a guarantee of high competitiveness for the company in the national and foreign markets.

According to the Mexican Meat Council (Comecarne), led by Ernesto Hermosillo, Mexico is currently the eighth country in the world with the highest consumption of pork protein and the second Latin American nation with the highest consumption of pork, only after Brazil.

In addition, the same numbers apply to pork production, where Mexico is the eighth producer of this type of protein, having Keken, the subsidiary specialized in the production and marketing of pork of Grupo KUO as one of the leading companies.

We have been told that recently Keken, headed by Claudio Freixes, received the international certification in Food Safety System FSSC 22000 for its processing plant in the municipality of Umán, Yucatán, which is a guarantee of high competitiveness for the company in the national and foreign market.

The certification was awarded to Keken’s plant for complying with all the guidelines that guarantee quality and food safety in its processes and products, while it is internationally positioned in the safety management systems in all production processes, consolidating an offer of healthy and safe products for consumers in Mexico and the world.
